The Sun Salute is our exercise of the month and in fact it is a combination of several of the exercises that have already been featured.  It is an excellent warm-up series to open up the back and front of the body, and also can make a great mini yoga practice for those days we have limited time.

Start in Quiet Mountain bringing awareness to body alignment and breath.  Move from Mountain into Standing Back Extension, then release into Forward Bend or Eagle, hangout in Rag Doll for 1-2 full breaths. Slide the hands up to the knees and move into standing table top then lower the hands back to the floor moving into Runners Lunge with the right leg extending back. Bring the left leg back to move into Full Plank.  Either lower the body to the floor or drop the knees first then slide the body onto the floor from kneeing position.  Press up into Baby Cobra (back extension), lower to the floor, move into Downward Dog, back into the Runner Lunge bring the right foot forward, pull the left foot up to meet the right foot and move into Rag Doll  Finish by rolling up into Quiet Mountain or moving back into Eagle to complete one round.  Repeat 2-6 times finishing in Quiet Mountain to receive the sensations of sun salute  Allow the breath to guide the series inhaling or exhaling with each movement.  Enjoy!
