ARE YOU ACTIVE AND FIT

To be active means that you make all aspects of your day more dynamic which include light activities throughout the day. An active day could include walking or biking to work, parking further away from the front door to create an opportunity to move, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, going for a walk at lunch time and doing stress reducing stretches throughout your work day. A typical evening would be outdoor activities after supper with family and relaxation for an hour to end the day.

To be fit means that you do moderate to intense activity three to six times a week including cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, and flexibility and eating a healthy diet. In order to have total fitness the secondary components of balance, speed, coordination and agility also need to be targeted as does a healthy diet.

Combining both daily activity and a focused fitness regimen will accomplish an overall healthy lifestyle that not only will help you live longer, but also as importantly, allow you to live better!
