Manulife Dragon Boat Festival
The Manulife Dragon Boat Festival is dedicated to promoting healthy communities through physical activity by supporting the Nova Scotia Amateur Sport fund, a Sport Nova Scotia program committed to the development of amateur sport in the province. 20 enthusiastic Nubody’s staff are needed to participate on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Lake Banook.

Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life 2006 Friday June 9, 2006 at Citadel Hill Relay For Life is a celebration of survival, a tribute to the lives of loved ones and a night of fun, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer. Relay for Life is a 12-hour non-competitive event starting Friday evening and ending Saturday morning. Interested in being part of a team of 10? On Friday, April 28, 2006 another GIVE-R event turned out to be quite a success!  Young business professionals from HRM gathered at the Halifax Alehouse from 5:00pm – 8:00pm to kick back after a long week at work.  People had a chance to network, socialize and raise money for a great cause. “We were able to raise $1000 for the Daniel McLellan Memorial Fund – not too bad for 3 hours and $5 donations at the door.” Says Aimee St.Croix, member of the GIVE’R organizing committee.   BJ from Q104 took to the stage and started to do the prize draws with the help of the charity representatives.  Nubody’s donated 2 one-month memberships and 2 gym bags to lucky winners in the crowd!  At the end of the prize draws Tanya and Brad McLellan (founders of the charity) said a few words of thanks to a completely silent bar.  It was absolutely inspiring.  Tanya spoke about their personal experience with their son and Leukemia - a true reminder of why it is so great to be involved in the GIVE-R initiative!  GIVE’R events take place the last Friday of every month.  Tickets are only $5 – take your co-workers out and support our community.  Nubody’s is proud to be a sponsor.
